We welcome your interest in our institution and the legal profession. MD Kirk School of Law, now entering its second year of teaching future lawyers, is America¡¯s newest pioneer in legal education for the 21st century. MD Kirk School of Law was founded to implement our strategic plan that responds to the increasing complexity, globalization, and competitiveness of society, business and the legal profession. As globalization and competition have increased in both business and the legal services market, so has the need for professionals who have a strong understanding of the global market. Whether you are working in North America, Europe or Asia, and other continents of the world, the conventions and practices relevant to cross-border projects are largely the same and the Anglo-American common law structure is becoming the dominant regime to follow.
MD Kirk School of Law is dedicated to expose you to this emerging world. It attempts to provide you with the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in the law and legal system of the United States and in the common law generally. You will strengthen your ability to deal with complex legal problems and will gain knowledge and skills that are of critical importance in your success in law practice and business.
It is my utmost honor to continue the legacy of our first and founding Dean, David Nathan Smith (2005-2007), who nurtured the establishment of this new learning center to provide a quality JD program at an affordable tuition for progressive individuals who desire to enhance his/her career perspective and quality of life.¡± This program is geared toward embracing students who have the desire and drive necessary to achieve their goal of obtaining a law degree and a career in law.
